Eating and Drinking in Paris
(Paris, France)
Restaurants in Paris
Dining is almost an art form in Paris, considered by many to be the world capital of gourmet cuisine. All over the city are numerous restaurants, cafés and bistros serving superb food to satisfied customers. As well as classic French dishes, many restaurants serve international dishes from around the world.
Paris is also home to numerous bars, many featuring live music and entertainment.
Among the most famous are the Crazy Horse Saloon and Harry's New York Bar, where the Bloody Mary was invented and Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and other literary expats drank in the 1920s. For many Parisians, their idea of a relaxing evening is to sip a pernod, aperitif or glass of wine at the streetside cafés where all the chairs face the street and provide excellent people watching.
